In the bustling Port of Sainte-Catherine back in the late ‘90s, a young and determined Marcus stepped into the transportation world for the first time. Starting as a checker for Crossby Shipping, he worked with ocean carriers supplying remote communities in Nunavut, delivering critical goods through icy waters aboard heavy-duty icebreakers. The complexity and urgency of Arctic logistics lit a fire in him that’s never gone out.
That spark led Marcus to a lifelong career in logistics. By 1999, he transitioned to a pricing analyst role at Clarke, where his sharp mind and work ethic quickly propelled him into management. When Clarke’s VP founded Axsun, Marcus was the first call... brought in as Director of Pricing to help lead the charge.
Over the years, Marcus expanded his expertise across operations, pricing, and business development, earning a reputation for excellence throughout North America. He went on to consult independently for top Canadian carriers and joined CH Robinson, the largest freight forwarder on the continent, where he further built his legacy in the 3PL world.
But Marcus’s story is more than just numbers and freight lanes.
He’s a mentor, a coach, and a two-time cancer survivor. A father of two, he’s always made time to lead by example, whether on the field coaching youth sports or in the office guiding teams toward smarter, more agile solutions.
Marcus is also a lifelong martial artist, having trained under Olympic and World Champion coaches with a 9-0 Amateur Kickboxing record, and even teaching women’s self-defense during his time in logistics. That discipline and grit are woven into everything he does.
Today, Marcus leads ILCO’s Sales & Operations team as our VP, bringing with him 25+ years of hard-earned experience, real-world leadership, and a passion for building strong teams and even stronger partnerships.
